AMRITSAR

Steeped in history, culture and tradition, Amritsar is the holiest abode for Sikhs across the world and welcomes tourists with open arms. You’re welcomed by the bustling streets, the aroma of food cooking in the open-air kitchens and strains of devotional music the moment you step in the bustling by-lanes.

Amritsar is a big, busy city in Punjab, near the border of Pakistan. There are many places to visit in Amritsar, owing to its location and history, such as the Harmandir Sahib – Golden Temple – and the newly opened Partition Museum. Amritsar has often found itself at the front lines of history because of its location in the country’s north-west – including during the birth of the nation.Dalhousie and Khajjiyar are also worth visiting place. It will give uh the best experience and enchanting scenery.

PLACES TO VISIT:

The Golden Temple

The temple is surrounded by water on all the sides. When I entered the temple there was water flowing in which, we have to wash our hand and feet. Boys have to wear bandanna and girls have to wear scarves as it is a part of traditional dress. Everyone who visit the gurudwara can have the food in the langar which is given free of cost and the food is also very tasty. The prashad which I got was shira which was very delicious. There was peace inside the temple but the thing which I liked about the temple is there was waiting lines for going inside and lot of rush and thought taking blessing from outside only.

Wagha border-Jallianwala bagh

Jallianwala bagh and wagha border are the two main other attractions is AMRITSAR which has a relation with the past. The bagh has lot of history for the freedom fighters. The marks of the gund and bullets are still there. Wagha border is famous for the parade of soilders of INDIA AND PAKISTAN. Its a proud thing and worth watching.

Dharamshala

From Amritsar we went to Dharamshala. In Dharamshala there is a cricket ground which is very big and international matches are held. The scenery around the ground was a joy to watch. One should surely visit this place who is a cricket fan. There was a famous road call mall road in which we can do shopping like handicrafts etc. There were also Dalailama temples which is worth visiting.

Dalhousie

Moving forward from Dharamshala we went to Dalhousie. There was a overnight stay nd there are lot of exciting activities to do there. And the best part of the activities was paragliding in which I overcomed my height fear. There were also other activities like horse riding and river rafting. In Gandhi chowk shopoholics can do shopping for themselves.

Khajjiyar

Covering the itenary we went to Khajjiyar and it is located in huge grassy landscape with evergreen cedar trees from all the sides. The lake is the main attraction there. There are lot of activites to do there like Dalhousie. It is a snow covered hill.
